FAITH HALL OF FAME - One of the most memorable experiences of my basketball career was being invited to try out for the American National Team, a team that would later compete at the Pan American Games. There, at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, I competed against the very best players in the world – literally a Who’s Who of Hoops. Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, John Stockton, and other NBA stars were all there. I had to have faith in myself just to compete, and I gave everything I had to be noticed among players who would one day be in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Hebrews 11 is often referred to as the “Faith Hall of Fame.” It’s literally a Who’s Who of Heavenly Heroes who came before Jesus Christ. Abraham, Noah, Moses, David and other Biblical All-Starts are listed, as well as many others who gave their lives for God. But do you know what’s most exciting about the people on this list? One day you could be invited to join this chosen group. The invitation will not be based on your earthly talent that fades with time, but on your faith in Jesus Christ which leads to eternal life. Are you giving your best to God? How awesome will it be one day to hear Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You made the team!”
