Chapter 1 and 2 will first give you the critical foundational basics you need to have mastered before you can add a deep science to it. Not knowing the basics could expel and fail you in an interview process as quickly as not mastering The Interview Science steps. Remember, your foundation must be solid before building the house on top of it. You wouldn’t do a science experience without the basic tools. The reason I subtitle this book “for the candidate” is it is time someone took a real stand for job candidates. Job interviewing has become a stressful business, and many people are playing guessing games about how to interview. Candidates need to be given the gift of knowing what really happens behind the scenes in companies during and after the interview process. I realized after receiving many best recruiter awards and plaques that someone needed my help even more than the companies. I have interviewed some of the top people in the world that were unfortunately uninformed about how to interview. The critical importance of helping candidates in a real way is of absolute necessity. I have painfully stood by when candidates failed with hiring managers over something that could be avoided. One of the tragedies of our time is that qualified people aren’t getting jobs because they don’t know how to interview. These candidates have also ended up on the defensive and have no proactive set strategy to win. It makes me so sad to see people memorizing fifteen hundred possible interview questions and the coined proper responses. It is my mission to make sure that if someone is supposed to get a job they never fail due to their own inexperience at interviewing and representing themselves.
