As I researched the civilization of the Sumerians, the rulers of their dynasty believed they were related to celestial beings, offspring of the gods. The Sumerians were the first known civilization; they were located around the Tigris-Euphrates River Valley in the Middle East, their land was known as Sumer. What were the circumstances that caused those rulers to believe they were related to gods? Now with all the information we have available today, putting the pieces together, it’s obvious they had records stating they were offspring of higher beings. The Bible states in (Genesis 6:4) “There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.” From this statement it appears the sons of God were already here for some time when they came unto the daughters of man. These were the so-called gods those rulers claim to be offspring of. Who were those sons of God that had offspring by the daughters of men? Soon we will explore the origin of those so called-sons of God. For many years historians have been writing about the Sumerians and the longevity of the rulers of their dynasty, known as the Sumerian King List. The further you go back in history, the longer they lived. In more recent times it’s claimed some of their rulers ruled 150 years or more. People took it for granted, that these were only stories our ancestors used to amuse themselves; now new evidence is coming to life. Recently the History Channel presented episodes of a program they called, “Ancient Aliens,” where they described an abundance of evidence on our planet of visitors from higher worlds.
The Secret of Gilgamesh The Epic of Gilgamesh, the worlds’ first great epic was told thousands of years ago. Stories like Gilgamesh were told by Sumerians, distant offspring of sons of God. Their stories comprised of memories of stories told year after year and centuries after centuries of their kings being offspring of gods. These so called gods are the same ones mentioned above, in which sons of God saw that the daughters of men were fair. They married and had children and their offspring became men of renown. The ancient people called these sons of God, gods. This is when I believe stories about gods (such as the Roman’s and Greek’s gods) originated and were considered fantasy. Gilgamesh claimed his own mother was a god named Ninsun. In my research it appears the early kings of the Sumerians who were children of those sons of God mentioned in Genesis 6:4 and ruled for hundreds of years, knew they were offspring of beings from higher worlds. Thousand of years later kings like Gilgamesh tried to keep up the tradition, even if it was only in their imagination that one of their parents was a god. The blood line of those original sons and daughters of God, (There were women in this group also.) had depleted greatly. Gilgamesh was no doubt one of their distant descendent. Although mankind has been enjoying The Epic of Gilgamesh for centuries; to my knowledge no one in recent years has ever connected The Epic of Gilgamesh to the story in Genesis 6:4, in the Bible. The reason, we didn’t have the true history of our planet until relatively recent, with the arrival of The Urantia Book. After studying the book over ten years, it finally dawned on me that Gilgamesh was none other than one of the distant offspring’s of those sons of God mentioned in the Bible, and he wanted the stories (of his ancestors) to continue. In this book, Journey to Life I identifies the sons of God in (Genesis 6:4). I recognize these are new thoughts, but we have to free ourselves from the old-time religion that has kept the human race in spiritual bondage for many years and proclaim our religious freedom.
