Doom…Doom…Doom…”Kareem, stop kicking my door, please!” Nini screamed! Well, open the fuckin’ door, bitch! First, you need to calm down. Bitch, open this damn door! Calm down! I’ma calm down, after I whip your ass. I’m not gon’ open the door until you calm down. Doom…Doom… Those last two kicks knocked the door off its hinges. “Bitch, everything was all good when I was spending all my money on your gold diggin’ ass,” Kareem yelled, while dragging her to the center of the living room, by her hair. Why you doing this to me, Kareem? I don’t deserve to get beat on. Don’t cry now Nini, cause you damn sure wasn’t crying when you was helping me spend my money up. Then, as soon as the money disappeared you did too. “I hope you die,” Kareem mumbled, while strangling her. Tasha ran into the living room with a baseball bat in her hand. Tasha, you better get outta here before I take that bat and beat you with it. Get off my mom! You gon’ kill her. I wanna kill this bitch. Tasha fell to the floor in tears. After a minute or two, Nini’s eyes started to roll behind her head. He didn’t stop strangling her until her nose started to bleed.
Kareem went from room to room destroying everything that had value. First he pulled the 72 inch plasma TV off the wall and cracked the screen. Then, he took a kitchen knife to Nini’s bedroom. He cut holes in all of her most expensive clothing and purses. Before he left, he stabbed through her water-bed.
Ring…Ring…Ring… 911. How may I help you? Can you send an ambulance to Jackson and Norris Street please? My mom ain’t breathing! Calm down. Can you explain to me what happen? My mom’s boyfriend kicked our door down. Then he started strangling her! Please, send an ambulance! Where’s your mother’s boyfriend now? He just left. I’m sending an ambulance and the police right now. Thank you. Tell them to hurry up, please! They’ll be there in a few minutes.
Tasha and Tamika impatiently waited in Cooper Hospital’s Emergency Room. “God, please don’t let my mom die,” Tasha prayed to herself.
Hi, my name is Dr. Miller. May I ask, what’s your relation to Ms. Nicole Foster? I’m her sister Tamika Foster, and this is her daughter, Tasha Foster. Ladies, can y’all have a seat for a second, please? Is my sister gonna be alright, doctor? Well, I regret being the one who has to break this unfortunate news to you, but, we pronounced Ms. Foster dead at 11:51 p.m. “Oh my God, I need my mom,” Tasha cried. Aunt Mika, what am I gonna do without my mom? I need my mom! Calm down Tasha, you still got me. I’ll take good care of you. I need my mom, Auntie! I want my mom to take care of me! Tears poured from Tasha’s eyes. I can’t believe I watched him kill my mom. I can still picture Kareem strangling my mom.
“Tamika, I think it’s more than necessary for Tasha to speak with our family psychologist,” Dr. Miller suggested. Come on Tasha, I think seeing a psychologist would be a good idea. Aunt Mika, I don’t wanna talk to no psychologist! Why not? ‘Cause I just don’t want to. Plus, talkin’ to a psychologist ain’t gon’ bring my mom back! I should’ve hit Kareem with my baseball bat when I had a chance. I could’ve saved my mom’s life.
Tasha went into a violent spasm. She started punching and scratching whoever came her way. While tussling with security, she fainted.
Hello Tasha, my name is Dr. Golden. I’m a family psychologist. How do you feel? I feel a little dizzy. Well, just remain seated. You’ve just had an anxiety attack. What’s an anxiety attack? To explain it in its simplest form, you just got a little over excited due to the depressing events you’ve witnessed today. I have several questions I would like to ask you, but I don’t want to trigger another anxiety attack. So for now, I would like to recommend an anti-depressant medication that will help prevent any future anxiety attacks. Aunt Mika, do you think I need to take medication? I don’t think it would hurt you. I’m only 13 years old, and I already have to start taking medication? “Don’t feel weird,” Dr. Golden said. “It’s kids younger than you that’s taking medication.” I think you’ll do really well if you take 25 mg of Doxipen, once a day. I want to give you some time to clear you head. Hopefully, you’ll feel better next week. I’m gonna schedule you to come back to see me next week, because I have a lot of questions to ask you. I want you to take your medication everyday, and if you have any problems, feel free to call me.
Aunt Mika, I don’t never want a boyfriend. You’ll probably feel different in the future. No I won’t, trust me. All boys ain’t like Kareem, Tasha. Yes, they are. My mom told me that all men were the same.
