When a person writes his autobiography he believes that he’s covered the important points of his life. However, if he continues to live beyond the original book, he probably has more that he’d like to tell. That has happened to me. My story, Lucky Walter, which was published in February 2006, is now more than six years old. However, the date of publication is not the date of writing. There were many months intervening between final writing and publication. So, the purpose of this book is: 1. To update those succeeding years that I’ve managed to live extra-terminally. 2. To record receiving a Distinguished Alumnus Award at the Class of 2008 ceremony at Forest Hills High School. 3. To brag about my expertise (and good luck) in many of my adventures, especially my good fortune in advancing the wealth of my estate. 4. To tell about my authorship of nineteen books. 5. To remark on the continued disconnection between my four sons (and my grandchildren) and me. 6. To elaborate on some of my earlier experiences, especially Build a Wider Bridge, my non-profit that has sent over 100,000 titles to foreign countries. 7. To add a great many photos to most chapters. 8. To explain my “Luck” and good fortune in leading the equivalent of five or six lives over a very long span, during up times and down times. Always the adventurer and willing to take life-altering risks, has given me the opportunities that other men simply dream about. 9. To tell my great-great-grandkids, as yet unborn, about one of the men that preceded them.
