Below I share how the Lord got me to write this little alphabet book before I realized it would ever take on the form of a book… and certainly before I ever connected it to the above prophecies: It was midnight before everyone was finally asleep and I could find some quiet time alone with the Lord to read His Word and pray. I headed up a Ladies Prayer and Share service in our church, and I never knew when God was going to give me something to share with the ladies. It could come at any time during the week, and here it was Monday night and I still had not received anything definite. Prayer and Share was almost upon me, so I continued to sit quietly reading and waiting upon the Lord. My thoughts began to drift off to my husband Don’s backslidden condition when suddenly – the Lord interrupted my thoughts and spoke something very strongly in my spirit. He said: “DON HAS RETURNED!” I became very excited and began to praise God for it, and for revealing something that had not yet manifested in the natural (that came three months later). Then, as I often do when He shares something with me, I said, “Lord, now that Don has returned, in order for him to receive, he must remain.” I realized I had three R’s, and thought to myself: “Well, tomorrow I will speak about three R’s of the Spirit,” but they continued… “If we receive God’s rebuke and reproof and repent,” and on and on. Within an hour, I had over 50 R words, and could barely get to sleep that night for the flow. A few days later, I tried to cut them off, but I woke up one morning saying, “Our romance with Jesus is not just another rendezvous.” I finally did close them off and thought that was the end of it. But – I did not count on words from other letters coming in and flooding my mind. The L’s were next, and then the A’s, followed by the F’s. The verbiage from subsequent letters seemed to increase, even though I was still using only those words that came into my mind. I was absolutely consumed with these words and letters, and did not know why. I had to sleep with pen and pad by my bed, and even take them with me in the car. One day, it finally dawned on me that the Lord was giving me a new assignment by having me write a little alphabet book about Almighty God, Jesus and His Great Salvation, the Christian walk, our victory over the enemy, His Second Coming, and the eternal future that awaits us in heaven. I have been accused of sometimes being corny and cliché, (in a comical sort of way), so some of what I wrote may have come off that way. However, these adages convey the ultimate victory God gives us, and are based on the WORD itself. There are also some direct quotes from the Bible. They have served to uplift me during times of fighting a battle, and some came as a result of painful spiritual bouts, which probably would not have been written were it not for the fight of faith during those times of struggle. But, for the most part, they were exhilarating and brought me much joy. I praise the Lord for the outpouring of these alphabetical words, and pray you enjoy them as much as I did receiving them from the Lord and writing them out. The letters did not come in alphabetical order, and I found it ironic that the first and the last letter came forth as an R. The second R is in sequence with the rest of the alphabet from A to Z in the text of this book, which begins right after the short story, The Saga of the Big Bulging Blue Bag. Since the original R was the first letter I received, I made it part of this introduction and a bit of it follows below: R is for RECONCILIATION Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord. (Isaiah 1:18 NIV) Remove yourself from vain religions and vain repetitions, and regard not iniquity in your heart. Jesus is our Rock, Rescuer, and the One who brought reconciliation between God and man. Receiving Christ brings with it remission of all our sins, and gives us access to the riches of God. When we return, we must remain in order to receive… If we receive God’s rebuke and reproof and repent, we will be reconciled back to God. Renounce the world, and your new life will reflect Jesus. Make room for Him here and He will reserve a room for you in Heaven. Your romance with Jesus will not be just another rendezvous. It is reality that will last forever, for there is no one or anything that can rival or replace the love of God. Be rejuvenated by allowing the Blood of Jesus wash away your sins and forgive you. Your relationship with Him will cause reverberations round about you like ripples in water. When others recognize Jesus in you, they will grab hold of that gold ring of life. God is no respecter of persons. The rebellious shall eventually feel remorse. The righteous shall retain God’s reward and rejoice, knowing their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. This robes us in the majesty and resplendency of Christ, making us part of a holy and royal priesthood. To refuse to follow Him would be a rejection of life itself because He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Relax and let God be your refuge and you will find relief from the reverses of life. Refrain from ruin by letting the peace of God rule in your heart. Rest in Him and be revived and restored. God renews those who wait on Him. Read the Word and get ready to reap…
