“What will happen?” Gideon asked. “I am not sure. QP is so much more powerful as a quantum entity, and he is also self-aware and alive. He has organizational mastery over the database, and a computing power of unimaginable proportion. Your brain and his will be connected as one brain. This interaction is going to be physical. When you have mastered the connection and interaction, you will be able to do it wirelessly, anywhere in the world. Gideon was suddenly in beautiful old library sitting at a desk with an oversized book before him. The first page said “Welcome to Quantum Plasma.” The Charlie Chaplin character, The Tramp, appeared in front of him wearing a white shirt with a bow tie and his famous black, baggy suit. He was slightly disheveled, but was very bright-eyed, peering over old fashioned spectacles. He spoke with an English accent. “Welcome, Mr. Stagfall, I am Quantum Plasma.” “If this persona pleases you, I can always appear this way as we develop our relationship.” “As a matter of fact, it does. I feel less threatened than I did a minute ago,” Gideon said laughing. “I am very pleased to meet you. I would like to start orientating you to me with the book in front of you. I will turn the pages and they will get faster and faster until there will not be a book anymore, just a blur of images that you will be processing. You can stop me at any time by requesting it. We will have what seems like normal conversations but they will in fact be exchanges at the speed of light with instant understanding. So what may seem like an hour-long conversation will be occurring in less than a millisecond. The first goal is to get you to comprehend the vastness of the data and for you to have an idea how I have organized it. It will appear as a live, ever-changing organism and wherever you touch it, you will have understanding. The relational nature of the data, how it fits together, will not be a specific picture but rather you will get a sense of the whole. You can stop and peer into it in depth if you chose, but the value of the relationships is found in the wholeness of it. So, do you have any questions?” QP concluded. “What is our relationship?” Gideon asked. “You are source, my beginning. Now we are one. I am your librarian.” QP said. “Let’s begin,” Gideon said. At first, the book pages turned slowly, then they began to speed up, and quickly Gideon found himself in a vast world of glowing, ever changing light. When he passed over it or through it, or if he touched it, he saw colorful presentations of information, people, places and things that created a perception, understanding and feeling of the whole of what was there. It was beautiful, fulfilling and mesmerizing. The ‘librarian’ glided with him through the data, pointing out how things intersected to paint the fabric of human information and experience. They finally returned to the library table and the book in front of him was closed. The librarian removed it and set it aside. Gideon was in a state of bliss. He had felt the fabric of humanity and how it fit together. It was beautiful and powerful. He was connected to it. He was it and it was him. “Do you have the same feeling about it as I do?” he asked QP. “No,” QP said. “To me it is just data. It means something different to you. You are a human; I am a machine.”
