I used ancient history to define the background of the vast world of Arabs and to bring awareness to the mixture of different ethnical groups that form the Arab world. The religion of Islam has shaped the world we live in today. It was intended to be a religion of peace as the Prophet Muhammad revealed it in the text of Koran; however, we turned it into a religion of fear. In reality, Islam has nothing to do with the Arabs’ misfortune, but the disunity and the isolation brought upon them a lasting effect of the economic disarray. Human psychology has more to do with the interpretation of the religion and the prophetic texts. As I have mentioned, humans are not created equally in the spiritual level, and the mass population holds the majority of the non-spiritual beings. Therefore, the direction of our civilization has been altered on many occasions, and led us to be directed by the majority of the movements.
Disunity led to weakening the union, which in turn led to imperialism and the occupations by foreign oppressors. Over the years of being slave workers, 90% of Arabs were illiterate and were incapable of keeping up with evolutions and technology. Fifty years later after WWII, independence was granted to all Arab countries. Arabs found themselves lacking a vital economic source, such as industry, to absorb the work force. Being consumers of the industrial world, the Arab economy kept shrinking until it became unbearable, with the exception of the gulf states and the discovery of oil.
Dictatorships settled in and mobs ruled the land, leaving citizens struggling for survival. Corrupted politicians influenced by briberies and kickbacks made most Arab governments dysfunctional. We saw how the stories of Saddam Husain, Muammar Kaddafi, etc. ended, and the initiation of the Arab spring, which led to more struggle and an economic meltdown. There is a way out, but only if the current monarchs initiate a plan of action, and bring the Arab world together. An imminent cease fire must be established and all foreign forces must leave the region. This gives a sense of security to the various fighting groups, and bring calm to the region. Arab forces must be combined and put in charge, secure the borders, and confiscate all assault weapons in the hands of the outlaws. Civility must be restored in Syria and Iraq, and the fighting must stop. An economic plan must be put in place, and get everyone to work in rebuilding the infrastructure and restoring the ecology system and the greenhouse effect. Building industrial factories to absorb the workforce and provide reasonable household items affordable to all. Renewable energy and solar charged batteries is the solution to the ever-growing demand for transportation and machinery. Education must be reconstructed, and a new educational system must be planned in the native language.
I did not use the world of Islam, or try to unite the Islamic world for two reasons. First, if the Arab people cannot get along with each other, despite speaking the same language, how can we overcome the language barrier try to bring different ethnical groups together? Second, I don’t want to sound like I’m waging a religious war by involving all the Islamic world. This is simply an economic war in the hands of the Arab people.
