The author was a profesor of mine some years ago, I have just re-read this book and am in love with it. I have just completed a Sociology course on families, and decided to re-read this wonderful book. This story means so much more to me now. I have loaned the book to one of my professors to read, and can't wait for his reviews. Congrats Mr. Hines !!

I had the opportunity to read and edit Mr. Hines I'm keeping my kids. It was very moving and shows the determination of the human spirit. I congratulate Mark Anthony for preserving his family's history. As African American's we must never give up on family or our place in society. Antoinette V. Franklin poet, author, educator
