Abstract:
Excitement comes to young Davy Barrett’s life when he arrives in London and joins the same theatre company to which William Shakespeare belongs. Soon, he is involved in highway robbery, attempted murder, the building of the new Globe Theatre, the production of Shakespeare’ plays with the great actor Richard Burbage starring in them, and assisting a man with the dreaded plague. He also tries to help his friend John avoid disaster in his love affair with the beautiful Anne. And Davy himself becomes enamored with a young lady who he vows to marry one day Davy is an orphan and does not even know who his mother was. Will he ever find out?
