Abstract:
“I want you to make me a promise … that we will have a healthy wheat crop someday. No matter how long it takes, no matter what troubles we may face…”Little does nineteen year-old Kathleen know how hard it will be to keep her promise to her papa. A family of ten leaves Ireland during the early 1850s, traveling to a new home in America. But a separation in the Atlantic Ocean leaves Kathleen with an important promise to keep, while not knowing if her missing family members are alive, or dead on the bottom of the sea.
