I saw what I thought were editing mistakes. Then towards the end I realized it was on purpose. This is stranger than strange. The lead characters thoughts are in the story when he's drunk. It's beyond weird. There are a few parts that drag on a few pages too long but it's worth the money. 415 pages and about 400 pages are incredible. The first part of it goes from right now to back in the 1970s. I'm not giving it 5 stars because I don't rate anything that high, but this is one damn good story. This should be a movie. You can see the characters who will play these parts. All in all this is dynamite.

This guy must have inside knowledge of some of this stuff. I'm from Kansas City and sometimes, it's like reading police reports but you're there while the crime is happening. This guy is sick or brilliant. Like the guy before me said, I want the next book from this sick bastard!!!

As a KC native, this book made me very uncomfortable. I can remember some of the events that inspired this fiction. But the explanations and depth of description into the KC mob really made me look over my shoulder just from reading it. I felt I had info they didn't want me to have. Seldom can a book make me feel that way. I highly recommend it.
