Abstract:
Paul McCulloh struggles against presidential contender Daniel Knight who is certain to become the first African-American president of the country. It is not the man’s race that McCulloh objects to; it is Knight’s religious dogma. Knight secretly plans to turn the country into a state in which women may only wear government-approved clothing, and where castration and female genital mutilation (FGM) for the young are righteous acts. McCulloh’s ex-wife, Amy, is now married to Knight, and McCulloh’s twelve-year old daughter, who is in the custody of Amy, is slated to be first to undergo FGM after Knight becomes president.
