Abstract:
THE LONELY POET
Is it loneliness, which makes a poet,
or poetry which makes him lonely?
It is sometimes hard to tell.
Poetry may be his healing
from the loneliness of hell.
The poet lives then in a world
of his own imagination,
associating with phantoms
of his very own creation.
As time passes, loneliness
changes from a living hell
to a phantom world of beauty,
in which the poet loves to dwell.

HOW A POEM SHOULD BE
The message should be plain and stark,
the language singing like a lark,
It should uplift you to the sky,
or else be sad to make you cry,
standing there upright like a tree,
uncompromising, frank and free.
