In Dialogues With Sam, the author finds himself in a state of delirium in a Russian hospital after suffering a major heart attack. As he receives an odd assortment of visitors, Twain, Poe, etc the reader is left to wonder if they are the hallucinations of a very sick man or in fact are real?

He returns home with these final words uttered by Mark Twain still fresh in his mind: "Meet me at the fishin' place." What fishin' place?

At their many meetings at the fishin' place, some lively conversations surface and this amazing tale of author meeting hero ensues. It is a real effort of the author to get Mark Twain into heaven. Readers of this book will receive an extra treat of Mark Twains unpublished "1601".

The characters appear real, the story seems plausible--or is it all just a figment of the authors imagination.
