A BIRCH TREE IN A WEATHER FRONT
A young birch in early autumn,
the leaves wet from sudden rain,
but she twinkles and she jingles
as sunshine kisses her again.
When a slight breeze ceases blowing,
she shows me an earnest face,
then the breeze kisses the birch tree
and she smiles at me with grace
Suddenly as if from nowhere
a wind-burst rushes by.
He is rough with the young birch tree,
and the birch tree starts to cry.
