Abstract:
Cassandra Wilkerson was a young girl making all the usual mistakes. She had dropped out of school at seventeen to marry her high school sweetheart and to have his child. Now three years later she’s divorced and raising her son alone. Working at a small coffee shop on the corner of 22nd and Pennsylvania Street in Indianapolis, she meets the man of her dreams… Mr. Jesse Montgomery.

Jesse is the main man on the corner. He controls the best looking and best performing ladies of the evening in that part of town. He’s soft spoken and is considered the best looking man in town by both men and women. Jesse is working hard to become the man he thinks that he wants to be.

Everyone, including her best friend Mona tells Cassandra that he’s no good. They believe that she should find herself a respectable man, one with a nine to five. Cassandra sees the other side of Jesse. She knows his heart is not into his life style.

Her love for him will cause her to deal with the under belly side of life. While waiting for him to love her back, she will associate with hookers, drug dealers, gamblers and madams. She will become involved with a murder investigation, undercover cops and broken hearts all over the place.

Can Cassandra’s love lead Jesse back into her world? Will she be able to show him how their love will conquer his need for his street life? Cassandra feels that their love will conquer all!
