Abstract:
David and Parson are the only male honeybees with ambition. Parson performs marriages. David desires to be king of a colony. He reasons he need only marry a Queen. It matters not that due to a “wing problem” there hasn’t yet been a groom who lived long enough to eat a piece of wedding cake! Workers are females who never marry. Yet, Julip has a crush on David. Each time David starts down the aisle, Julip calls on him to solve a problem. Finally, by secret election, David and Julip are elected King and Queen over all colonies.
