Abstract:
Growing up in the early half of the 1900's was hard. Gilbert Crane came from a family with an uneducated and selfish father. His older brother, Cliff, was his father’s favorite child and would set the stage for many confrontations in life.

This lifestyle set the stage for Gilbert to start young in the construction business. He started with a team and wagon then worked up to a dozer. Gib spent three years driving truck at Boulder Dam. He married Vera then together they traveled the country building dams to railroads to a bomb depository for the Utah Construction Company. Gib became the top dozer man and the youngest superintendent the U.C. ever had. Then he quit.

Gilbert liked the dirt moving business, but he loved Vera more. They went on to own a plumbing company which put a son through college and raised three more children.
