Divers descend to an unknown shipwreck that has been sitting on the ocean floor for over a hundred years.

Abstract:
During the late 1800’s such a time capsule was born. For some unknown reason, maybe by storm or by fire, an unknown ship sank just a few miles off the Lewes beach, without a trace, leaving no survivors. Here this unknown ship and its cargo of English chinaware sat quietly for over a hundred years, trapped in time.

It was not until 1970 that this pseudo time capsule was finally found, accidentally by two NOAA vessels that were in the Delaware Bay conducting a routine wire drag of the area. The NOAA divers investigated the anomaly, thinking it was nothing more then a pile of rocks, but what they discovered was the remains of an early 19th century British cargo vessel filled with tons of English chinaware. Soon after, the infamous “China Wreck” legend was formed.

this was a good read. the author is down to earth and honest in his writing. its straightforward enough that if you dont know anything about diving you can still understand what you are reading. after reading this i want to go diving!
