Abstract:
The Bonds of Antiquity: Making Christianity Relevant to Today, is a book for Christians and non-Christians alike who are searching for a more believable Christianity. Its purpose is to point out how long-held interpretations of the Bible have missed the mark of truth, how that has adversely af-fected the success of the Christian church, and what Chris-tian adherents can do to correct the problem. It advocates bringing the church out of the first century by reinterpreting the gospel in the light of twenty first century knowledge.
