The question: “What does the Buddha teach?
The answer: If we follow his teachings, we will attain Nibbna here and now or in this very life.

Abstract:
The Buddha – like Lao Tzu, Confucius and Jesus – sees the twofold. If his words are read in the light of the twofold, they will become clear and comprehensible. This book presents the Buddha’s thought in that light. In comparison with the traditional interpretation, it is a new one. The twofold means there are two shores here and now. This shore is the shore of material, of ignorance and of suffering; and the other shore is the immaterial shore of enlightenment and of happiness. On this foundation the basic concepts of Buddhism are re-interpreted. For example, “rebirth” does not mean “being born again after death”, but it means “return to this shore”: “The Buddha was not reborn” does not signify “He was not born again after death”, but signifies “He reached the other shore and never returned to this shore”. If we follow his teachings, we will attain Nibbna here and now or in this very life.
