The igniting elements are a neglectful husband, a dissatisfied wife, and a vengeful arsonist out to kill both of them. Twists and turns in every chapter.

Abstract:
Called "a powerful reading experience" by a member of the prestigious National Book Critics Circle, Shadow of Guilt rises from a neglectful husband, a dissatisfied wife, and a vengeful arsonist out to kill both of them. On a night he should've been home, prominent PR man Chip Keller puts business and an affair first, leaving his family at the mercy of a killer. Stricken with guilt by what he's done, Chip drops out of life, then slowly begins a monumental struggle to reclaim it, trying to rescue a woman who is also drowning in guilt, and re-connect with his children, who blame him for what happened.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Shadow of Guilt. It kept me in such suspense that I didn't want to do anything for two days but read. I hope there will be a continuation of the story as I'm very interested in the Keller family! I read quite a bit but this book is superb.

It was great! I couldn't put it down, as each chapter brought something new to the story, which in turn kept my interest piqued. The story line and characters were believable, in the sense that such a situation and how the characters reacted to the many obstacles could really happen in real life. Recommend reading this one!

Samuel Jay's new novel has so much going for it. It is fresh, interesting and fascination - with characters that one can relate to and backgrounds that are very familiar, especially to those of us fortunate to live in New Jersey. Read it and you will truly enjoy it. Elisabeth Stuart

This is a real page turner. As someone who gave up on fiction holding her interest, I was pleasantly surprised at being anxious to learn what would happen next. The characters were well drawn and came to life through the words. I felt as though I knew them. The author is also especially adept at scene setting. His descriptions put you right into the moment. Try it - you'll like it!

Samuel Jay's "Shadow of Guilt" peels back the skin of his characters, exposing a plethora of emotional and psychological flaws of friends and foes alike. His Hemingwayesque staccato-in-your-face-style showers the reader with imagery as tight metaphors, similes and allusions evoke characterizations of people in all walks of life. He spares no one the shame of being human. His transitions from the major plot to the many sub plots and host of characters are smooth with instant recall.

I started this book on Friday night and couldn't put it down. Finished it on Sunday. Great plot punctuated with a familiar geographic settic. (New Jersey). One of the better mystery novels I have read.

I couldn't put it down; started it on a week night and had to finish it by the weekend. It had more twists and turns than Cape Cod roads. As a transplant from New Jersey, I really enjoyed the many references to actual places in N.J. I hope that there is a sequel to this!!

I could not put the book down due to the anticipation of what comes next. I would compare Shadow of Guilt to the reading of the Da Vinci Code in holding my interest.

A real page-turner, this novel contains a diverse set of interesting characters. The action moves at a swift pace and the plot is excellent. Readers are able to identify with the book's hero, Chip Keller, and by the end are rooting for him to get his life back together and reunite his estranged family.

An intriguing story for every parent to reflect on the positive and negative relationships that occur in every family. A superbly written novel with a true "can't wait to see what happens" page turner approach. I think this book could become a great, great movie. A most interesting, entertaining and realistic "must read" story!!!
