Abstract:
Steve joined the Army hoping to learn a skill and experience adventure. Unexpectedly thrust into the Iraqi war, his growing unhappiness with Army life made him long for home. Suddenly, a vehicle accident along the “Road to Baghdad” changed his life forever. Captured and wounded by Iraqi Loyalists, he is rescued and medically evacuated. During hospitalization in Germany, Jean, an attractive young physical therapist captures his heart with her ‘down-home’ folksy innocence. As love blossoms, Steve is ordered back to a more hostile Iraq. Although Jean plans for an uncertain future, she waits and worries. What new dangers will Steve now face?
