When the airplane crashes and leaves him as the only survivor, Hector struggles along, lost somewhere in the jungle region of Southern Colombia.

Abstract:
This is Hector’s first ever vacation adventure without his wife, and he is feeling the normal aches and stiffness of a 64 year old man. When the airplane crashes and leaves him as the only survivor, Hector struggles along, lost somewhere in the jungle region of Southern Colombia. Further injuries occur when he encounters a crocodile which almost severs his right arm. Delirious and starving, he stumbles into an opening in the ground behind a waterfall to escape the hoard of insects that are eating him.

He awakens in a sterile room with two strangers attending him and is shocked to find that all his injuries are gone; even his arm shows no trace of having been injured. At this point he cannot imagine that this is only the beginning of some miraculous things that are going to happen to him.

Evolving is pure fun....kept me guessing on the outcome..a really good first effort. Enjoyed the travelogue of the Columbian Jungle and the various characters Hector meets along the way. For babyboomers, Evolving promises eternal youth....don't want give away too much of the plot, however. Here is a good stocking stuffer for the holidays.

Hector has recently retired and finds himself ready to take on the challenge of a six week adventure safari somewhere in Columbia though to add the mystery, the company organizing the trip has kept the precise destination secret. When his plane crashes somewhere in the Columbian jungle, Hector must face the awful truth that he has gotten way more adventure than he bargained for, Being an intrepid soul, Hector slogs through the jungle, fending off ferocious insects and a crocodile that nearly severs his arm until he reaches a waterfall, Thoroughly exhausted and just about ready to collapse, he makes his way along a path leading behind the waterfall and discovers a tunnel that leads him to a domed room. To his amazement, he encounters a small group of people who are in reality androids. The author adroitly describes their attributes, where they came from and what their mission is. One key thing they do is to restore Hector to health and essentially rejuvenated him to where he now is stronger, healthier and less susceptible to disease. Leaving the androids, Hector makes his way through the rainforest and finally reaches an Indian village after having numerous adventures along the way including a battle with a crocodile resulting in its death. After a brief respite in the village, the Indians point him in what he hope is the right direction. Hector starts off on foot, eventually coming to a town where he is able to get an automobile ride to take him to the nearest airport. At this point, he knows his rescue is ensured. His family is soon notified and two members fly down for a reunion. Hector on his arrival back in Atlanta realizes how much of a media sensation has been created by his appearance. Soon after arriving back in the States, Hector starts to notice changes in his body that draw the attention of the diabolical Dr.. Krole, who becomes bent on finding out the secrets buried in Hector’s body by whatever means that are necessary. After escaping his clutches, Hector too, desires to learn more of the androids secrets so he undertakes a hair raising journey back to Columbia filled with terror, narrow escapes and out of this world wonders. For adventure and SciFi lovers, this book is a must read. The author is an excellent story teller. He has very capably told a tale filled with twists and turns as well as narrow escapes.

EVOLVING BEHIND THE WATER has brought me many surprises. If you're into stories about being stranded on an island, then this is a story for you. It made me excited, sad, angry at every twist and turn. Like a spinning farris wheel, all the characters and events are colorful and unpredictable, in this family outing whose PERFECT LIFE turns spiraling in a cobweb of ifs, ands and buts! It made me happy to see that they stuck together in search of their lost father and how they endured the effort together, 'till the end, but the clencher bites down, when they are abandoned in themselves to accept what the deserted man decides, as they look back at the reality of going back to the, real world! Huckaby gives a great description of their convictions and dreams; something I think most families are missing: innocence and unihibited faith. Let's keep going and read on! There's never an end to what lies beyond in the other world, that's in the mystery of the Jungle!
