Abstract:
Lurking in Pennsylvania collects three decades of William P. Robertson’s best horror stories and poems, many of which appeared in magazines worldwide. Bill specializes in understated Gothic terror in the tradition of Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft. He draws his material from McKean County legends, his Grandma B's Swedish folktales, and traumatic personal experiences. He also delves into dark humor and lends a fresh perspective to such classic beings as the werewolf and troll. Bill’s best work chills rather than sickens. Sometimes what is left unsaid is the most terrifying of all. . .

  A Dose Of Terror , 09/30/2004
Reviewer: Ross Psuty
Finally, a writer of short stories who knows how to write horror in the way it should be. William Robertson gives a new meaning to the word 'terror'. His writing style stays with story, giving the reader a chance to use his own imagination, and with enough details to keep you focus. He does not try to scare you with words, but uses feeling with those words that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. So if you are looking for different levels of fright, then this is the book for you.
