Many authors, fresh off their debut novel, shiver at the thought of the dreaded "sophomore slump." This month we prove that glenn smith just keeps getting better and better. Much like, Tybee Island Terror Plot," Smith's first book, the events in "Golden Lily" are based in histroical lore. The book takes its name from an operation carried out by a Japanese general at the tail end of WW II to loot captured territories and hide the gold and treasure at various secret locations around the region. As the book opens, Lonnie Hummel, a missionary living in the Philippines, is brought to a secret cave by a member of his congreation. There he find a furtune in gold bars, part of the fabled Bolden Lily treasure, and begins a race against time to claim it. Meanwhile, a San Francisco lawyer and his museum curator friend discover a map to the treasure hidden on a series of ancient Chinese artifacts and begain their own campaign for the treasure. As the race for the riches heats up, both side come face to face with vicious Yakuza gangsters, terrorists, rogue US agents, and the shady world of international espionage.
