The EP Pony Express, rooted in the exciting and historic Pony Express of 1860, was ridden by men who believed they could change the practices of the world’s largest company.

Abstract:
The Pony Express, of 1860, kindled excitement nationwide. Everyone with an adventurous spirit could imagine themselves racing across the country at breakneck speed to deliver the mail. A century after those brave riders rode, and other forms of transportation made the country a single village, the telephone companies and others discriminated against their employees by following the feudalistic principle of basing wages on where you lived. They called the practice the “Community Wage Theory”. The Union and the workers called it “As outmoded as the Pony Express,” and in 1964 formed the EP Pony Express to call attention, and demonstrate the point. This is the story of that 1600 mile ride.
