Abstract:
Cooking Recipes from the Wives & Mothers of Our Founding Fathers is a marvelous collection of delightfully different cooking recipes favored by the 56 Signers of the Declaration of Independence and the 39 Signers of the Constitution. A number of these heroic men from America’s past are well known to Americans today (Washington, Franklin, Madison, etc.). Many others have been forgotten with the passage of time (Bassett, Hopkins, Ross, Smith, etc.). Each recipe is followed by a brief biographical sketch covering interesting highlights of the person’s accomplishments, thoughts and beliefs.

Reviewed by: Kristie Lynn (1/8/2006) I've got to let you know once again because I'm so impressed with Mr. Pelton's work of art. All can say is that this is truly a marvelous book. It's pure dynamite and the historical part should be required reading in every school in America. The book is fabulous and should also be used as a teaching aid in home schooling. It covers historical facts most of which aren't found in school texts. I've never seen anyhing even close to this approach.
