Abstract:
Shaken by the news that his owner will be attending a major exhibit of Egyptian artifacts without him, Ptah boldly escapes from his apartment and journeys to the museum, where he encounters a magical urn that whisks him back in time to ancient Egypt. There, the young black cat faces danger, intrigue, and excitement as he travels with Imhotep into Nubia; changes a boy’s—and ultimately a kingdom’s—fate; battles the Hittites alongside Ramses the Great; and sails the Mediterranean with Antony and Cleopatra on their way to do battle against their mortal enemy, Octavian. Through it all, Ptah learns the meaning of friendship, and finds within himself the strength and the courage he needs to survive.
