I was drawn into the book immediately! What a beautiful and heartfelt story told so eloquently by the man who lived it. You could feel the emotions in the book as vividly as you can see the changing colors of the sunset. I could not put this book down and have encouraged my friends and loved ones to read it as well.

I loved this book! The coincidences (or are they?) in his life make you truly believe that we are not on this earth alone. My mother is an avid reader so I recommended it to her...and she loved it so much that she has recommended it to her friends. This is the kind of book that can be enjoyed by just about anyone...of any age and from any background. Absolutely wonderful!

This is a must read for any parent and their teenage and/or young adult children! Once I started I could not put it down. It reinforces the value and importance of the family unit and how a parent's love for his child is tested to the limits through years of separation and pain yet survives.Extremely well written and will captivate you emotionally.

From the first chapter, I knew this heartfelt book was gripping. His story will capture your heart and run a spectrum of emotions. You can truly experience and understand the emotional struggles Dick encounters as he tries to unravel his past. An unusual twist, shows that things are not always what they seem. The story forces you to re-evaluate relationships and the impact they have. A must read!

Growing up in West Chester, Tori was one of my best friends in middle school, and I would go over to her house for sleepovers and pool parties. Now that we're older and in college, I don't see her a lot, but I do see Mr. Haviland at Starbucks!! When he gave me his book to read, I was so excited. I both laughed and cried, (mostly cried) as each chapter he shared more and more about his life. His writing was detailed, vivid, and I felt that I was right there... in the airplanes, listening to taps at the funeral, and as he opened the "letters from God." I enjoyed reading about his search to find Alan and reconcile things with his mom and Tom. I think that all of us have a "Ben" in our life. I'm thankful that Mr. Haviland invited us to share in his life, the story of his family, and was able to reconnect with his father. I can't wait to tell others read this book. It's a great reminder to let faith love and joy be our constant companions.
