Abstract:
BEST FRIENDS–The Opposite Journeys of Maggie and Janey introduces readers to these two best friends who are looking for a happier future. At fifteen years old their path is already set, as Maggie runs away from home and Janey discloses she wants to be a nun. Maggie’s naiveté leads her into prostitution, thievery, near addiction and struggles with her own emotions. Janey’s assignment to a mission brings her disillusionment, temptations, weaknesses, inner conflicts and a heartbreaking decision that follows her throughout life.
