Abstract:
Our system of public education is being assaulted from two different directions. One is from professors of education with senseless theories that get passed on in the form of weak educational practices to young pre-service teachers. The other is from politicians who insist on accountability, school choice, and merit pay. Both groups have old ideas but keep repackaging them anew. And neither group spends much time in actual public school classrooms. What we need are some new ideas for getting a better quality education from America’s classrooms. This timely book gives a realistic and effective approach to real education reform from a real public school teacher.
