Abstract:
This autobiography tells of Walt Wood, a quiet orphan boy, who fought in World War II, developed careers in the food industry and academia. He created the original Weight Watcher frozen meals. In academia, he established new departments and innovative teaching. He participated in worldwide studies in food technology, founded and directed BWB (Build a Wider Bridge) a program that donated over 100,000 foods-related technical books and journals to other countries. A world-traveler and still active in his eighties, he has authored six books.
