Abstract:
This is a book that is, perhaps, different from any other book of poetry written before. Three African-American females of unique backgrounds, yet common purpose united to edify and exhort the African American cultural experience. Their portrayal of “Black Man, I Choose You,” epitomizes the cries, thoughts, and desires of Black females of all ages. These poems encompassing the six themes of inspiration, tidbits of wisdom, childhood, love, death, and life will inspire you, bring you to tears, make you laugh, and provoke you to look inside yourself and examine your truth.
