Glodowski is a colorful writer and she paints a vivid picture of the City of Madison, Wisconsin, where the murder takes place. Her detailed descriptions of setting and historical sites lend a very realistic feel to the novel. There are plenty of twists and turns in this book to keep the reader guessing about who killed the professor. Set on the idyllic campus of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, "Murder on a Philosophical Note" features a prominent professor of philosophy and bioethics, who is brutally murdered while jogging on the lake path to picnic point along the shores of Lake Mendota.
