Skinning the Cat: A Baby Boomer’s Guide to the New Retiree Lifestyles is a guide for retirees who want to turn their retirement years into productive years.

Abstract:
When Dad retired, he played golf. Times have changed. Today's retirees have a different plan. They see retirement as a time to reinvent themselves; after all, they marched in the streets, explored sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. They'll choose adventure over safety, trade green eyeshades for whisks, calculators for palettes. And they’ll live longer than did Dad. They'll have time to explore life's options. If they continue work—most will—they'll have money to fund the exploration. What will they choose to do? Skinning the Cat looks at how we’ll spend our time in retirement, whether it’s continuing full-time work, starting a business, working part time, volunteering or traveling.

Joan Fitting Scott's book, "Skinning The Cat - A Baby Boomer's Guide To The Retiree Lifestyles" epitomizes the expression "Big things come in small packages."

Keep this book in mind as you contemplate what to do in retirement. The options are many, as Scott makes clear. A great reference as well - not only personally, but also for business strategy development.

  Great book! , 12/02/2006

This book makes so much sense. We Boomers are not going to define retirement like our parents have ... Not only does this book give a lot of ideas of different approaches to older years, but also reminds us that it is ok to continually evolve and change what we do as we grow older. I enjoyed this practical book.
