Globalization has long been part of the book culture as books travel around the world. Over one thousand bookplates, stamps and inscriptions are cited from the volumes in the Salmon Library, The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Abstract:
The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is a young university. It started as the Huntsville Center of the University of Alabama in 1950. It did not achieve university status until 1966 and did not have a separate library building until 1969. The library facilities were lagging aspects of the school. An aggressive dean of the library searched the Library of Congress and other libraries for books to increase his volumes. The result is characterized as E Pluribus Unum, out of many one. Over one thousand bookplates, stamps and inscriptions are cited from the volumes in the Salmon Library, UAH.
