Abstract:
Roughly 80% of the world’s population now lives in urban areas. Cities offer anonymity to violent criminals as well as to those who value privacy. New digital technologies allow purveyors of hatred and assorted smut to enter our homes and pedophiles use the Internet to bait our children and victimize them. This book is designed to provide you with a tested methodology for being secure in the concrete jungle without slipping into paranoia or denial. You don’t have to be a just another crime statistic!

A Book My Friends Are Waiting For. , 02/10/2007
Reviewer: Jack Dougher
My wife and I read this book in manuscript form and were excited about it. Josie talked about it with her friends and they all were anxious to buy it when it is published. They feel very vunerable in parking lots and even at home. This book provides them the opportunity to do something about their formless fears. Jim Wygand is professionally equipped to write this book and is a great teacher. Moreover, this book is well written and an easy read. He genuinely cares about his readers, their fears and concerns. He sensitively addresses these delicate and sometimes traumatic situations in a gentle and compassionate manner. Persons approaching this subject with some trepidation will find that he effectively puts them back in control of their feelings and gives them the understanding they need to avoid being a victim. It is replete with strategies to heighten their awareness and reduce their risks. I have heard several experts talk on this subject on Public Radio, but none seemed to have the knowledge and experience that Jim Wygand has. Buy it! It is certainly a book that I am grateful for having read, and I think that all of us need to read it.
