  Wonderful Read , 03/24/2008
Reviewer: Victoria
This book is very discriptive, with every chapter, you can visualize the atmosphere, and be there with Abbey. It is one of those books, that makes you want to go further into it. It is written with a style, that anyone can understand and relate with. It is a journey that you can take and feel good about! Kudo's to the author.

  PORTRAIT OF PEACE , 04/16/2008
Reviewer: Angel
PORTRAIT OF PEACE The book takes me to a peaceful place, and makes me feel light and relaxed because I am with Abbey and God. The picture I always get is the blue sky and the sun shining down in the mountains, through his hair, and his eyes matching the sky. Every time I read a chapter again I get more out of the story, and the bible verses explain the meaning of each paragraph. One of my favorite parts is when Jesus uses a dandelion to teach Abbey about sharing the Gospel. Another part I like is when Jesus is talking to Abbey about learning to trust him just like when she made her very first snow angel. When I see her falling backwards into snow I feel so calm. What a PEACEFUL picture!

  Very good read , 04/18/2008
Reviewer: Jim Haskins
I read this book, just finished it this morning. I really enjoyed the book, it was an excellent read. I had started the book a few times, but was confused. I decided to read the story first, then go back and read the book with the scriptures. The story was fascinating, I finished this book in 2 days, which for me is reading fast. I kept my attention, and was a page turner. I am the author's brother-in-law, but this is an unbiased review. Read this book, it is very very good.

Intimate Portrait of Jesus , 11/26/2008
Reviewer: Ruth McMillan Mayfield
As a fellow author who writes about faith and encouragement, I thoroughly enjoyed this unique book revealing a lingering, intimate look at our loving Savior, Jesus. Kathlene has effectively portrayed our Lord as a loving friend who is approachable and yet still Holy. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversations between Abby, the main character, and Jesus who spend a day together as friends—yet so much more. The book is peppered with scriptures in both Jesus’ words and narrative thought. Though perhaps a bit heavy with scripture reference at times, the story shines with insight into a depth of relationship desirable to us all as we trust in Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

  Very Interesting Story , 07/02/2009
Reviewer: Teresa Josephine
Having lived in the Adirondacks for many years, I know all the locations referred to in the story. As you're reading the book, it seems like it really could have happened. Why couldn't Jesus appear to someone and communicate through a dream?

Personal Connection With Jesus , 09/28/2009
Reviewer: Debbie Anderson
I recently finished reading Kathlene's book, and really appreciated how well she researched and developed the story...but what I felt the most was how very personal and dear she helped the reader feel connected with Jesus. It really made His love for not only the characters, but translated to the reader, very personal and dear. I've always sought the Lord personally, and worked towards holding a close and personal relationship with Him, but after reading this book, I've seen a real picture that helps me better view the Trinity and the omnipotence of God. It is also my prayer that other people will be inspired to read this story that the Lord inspired her to create to touch and change so many other lives. It amazes me how much I see Kathlene and her beautiful family, though I don't know her very well. I know the story is fiction, but I see the characters seasoned with the love I saw in her family. She has blessed me more than she'll ever know.

  Good Companion for a Retreat , 05/21/2010
Reviewer: Rev. Edwin Metzger & Rev. Winfried Kellner
We both have read "Climbing the Mountain Barefoot with Jesus", and find that it compares favorably with recent modern Christian parables that are best sellers. The extensive use of scripture applied to daily life make it a good companion for a day of recollection or a retreat.
