If we knew how challenging raising children was going to be, more of us would choose to be childfree. A voice of reason to those with unreasonable expectations of what parenting is all about.

Abstract:
50 Reasons Not to Have Kids encourages all of us in the child bearing years to realize that family planning means more than birth control, and spells out, from A to Z, the things to consider before starting a family. It’s a voice of reason to those with unreasonable expectations of what being a parent, and raising children, is all about. It discusses a broad range of topics with heart-aching honesty and home-spun humor. It’s not simply a snapshot of the surface, it’s a window into the soul of parenting.

Don't let the title fool you , 05/09/2007
Reviewer: Terry Smith
"As a very happy mother of two wonderful children the title seemed a bit offensive, but this book was not offensive at all. Joe’s writing style is engaging, entertaining, and informative. But most of all it is honest. I think it should be read by all parents. And most especially by those considering one of the most challenging roles in life – parenthood!" Terry Smith (Mother) – Upper Darby, PA

A Must Read for Prospective Parents! , 05/09/2007
Reviewer: Charlie Flagillo
This may be the most honest book ever written on what it’s like having kids in today’s world. So many books tell about how wonderful parenting is. It’s about time someone – who has kids – told about the down side. This is a must read for anyone who is thinking about having kids! Charlie Flagillio – (Retired Investor) Ocean City, Maryland
