Abstract:
This is a book that relives and revives memories, episodes, and experiences of a young boy living on a small farm in a rural area of Pennsylvania during the 1930’s and 1940s. The book gives us a glimpse into what life was like for residents in this remote, farm community of Pennsylvania during the Great Depression years. Swimming and fishing in a nearby creek, working on the farm with his grandfather and uncles, attending a one room school, learning to play the guitar, exploring local woodlands -- and, at times being the family pest! --all the above, and more, are discussed in the book.
