  Efficiency and Brevity! , 06/07/2007
Reviewer: Timothy P. O'Flaherty
I am an incredibly busy individual and have recently come into partnership with several other creative types - we are in the process of incorporating our computer animation business. In my opinion, this book by Chuck Holmes is superior to a lot of the other so-called "self-help" books out there. The reason for this is two-fold: Efficiency and brevity. The book "Life 101" is brief. It tells you in less time and pages the common, no-nonsense approach to creating and - more importantly! - building short, intermediate and long term goals, and how to get there. When you are done with Holmes' book, you have also efficiently created your "Goals Book," a physical manifestation of your aspirations and dreams. Now, with the reality of your dreams' potential staring you in the face (the author recommends reviewing your goal binder at least once a day)you now have nothing left to do, but move forward. As for the book's efficiency itself, the work allows busy people to get to the heart of the matter without a lot of prolix and excessive language. Holmes cuts right to the chase! Think of the book as "The Seven Habit of Highly Effective People Without All of the BS." My wife and I, together, for example, are now creating our own short, intermediate and long term goal binders for each other so that we can also get there just like a good team is supposed to do! In the end, of course, the burden will be on you to make your goals come true, but Chuck Holmes helps you to draw up the map. Enjoy the journey.
