Abstract:
David was king of Judah and then Israel for forty years. He was a shepherd, a warrior, a fugitive, a psalmist, a musician and a singer. With many wives and concubines, he was also an adulterer and murderer. But prayerful and repentant, he was forgiven, loved and favored by God. His exploits and Psalms, spread throughout several books of the Bible, are presented and integrated here in an orderly biographical sketch. A prologue and an epilogue encase David's story in the history from Abraham until today. This quick read might give some insight into today's turmoil in the Middle East.
