Abstract:
The GRANDCHILDREN OF THE PIONEERS, VOLUME TWO includes more than 250 true stories by fellow Nebraskans. While VOLUME ONE dealt with episodes from the first half of the 1900s, VOLUME TWO mainly presents stories from the latter part of the century. Personal accounts include such subjects as: accidents, rescues, Korea, assassinations, Viet Nam, the Berlin Wall, ranching, rodeos, storms, fires, and floods. As children, many of the storytellers sat on the laps of the pioneers. Those still living experienced the waning of the Twentieth Century, and now view the dawning millennium with surprise and wonder.
