Marvella Watson wasn’t exactly sure when she first decided to poison her husband Frank. When the idea popped into her head, it just seemed like the sensible thing to do.

Abstract:
After months of careful research, mild mannered matron Marvella Watson thought she had come up with a foolproof plan for murdering her husband. Unfortunately, like the old adage “the best laid plans of mice and men…” she hadn’t quite thought of everything. Who could have foreseen or planned for things like a biker gang, speeding ticket, or Sasquatch? Now she was scrambling to cover her tracks, and deal with the unexpected problems that kept cropping up. If she didn’t keep one step ahead of them all, she’d soon be spending her golden years locked away behind prison walls.

A great read! Quirky, funny, a bit offbeat, not your run of the mill murder tale. A very enjoyable book, highly recommended, especially if you like things a bit wild and funny. This book reminds me of Anne George's hilarious Southern Sisters tales. Grab it up quick, you won't be sorry!

Very entertaining debut novel. Well written plot with humor and characters that seem real. Marvella reminds me of Miss Julia in the Ann B. Roth Miss Julia series. The author wove some twists and turns into the plot very well. Not your run-of-the-mill cozy mystery. I highly recommend curling up with this one.

I laughed out loud over Marvella's antics and the wild cast of characters she meets. If you like a good mystery, but also enjoy a bit of comedy, then this book is a must read!
