The book contains pictures and a brief description of over 500 hundred lighting devices -- ranging from primitive fat burning lamps to some modern day flashlights. All the lighting devices seen in the book are in the author’s collection. He has been a collector and researcher of lighting devices since the mid 1970’s. Information about each lamp shown is based on knowledge and research gained in over 30 years of collecting. It is the author’s belief that the pictures and text will greatly aid people’s interest in collecting lighting items -- but who have very limited knowledge in the field.
