As his life unfolds he rarely mentions his blindness.

What a compelling autobiography of a truly fascinating man! It is so gripping to read about each phase of his interesting life. All you can think is how is it possible that one person can be confronted with so much negativity yet endure through it all. It's unbelievable that so many barriers stood in his way and yet he was able to overcome each and every one by his relentless perseverance and constant positive attitude. I read half of the book through watery, blurry vision either from laughing at his Irish humor relaying certain situations or from feeling so touched and sad at the many adversities he had to face. I hope those "dark clouds" he mentions have finally all dissipated and the next eighty years for him and his wife are "easier". I wonder who will play Bob when this book is made into a movie.

I always knew Bob Murray was a wonderful, charismatic human being. Blind Man's Bluff allows the reader the opportunity and privledge to learn of his life from humble begins to success while remaining consistant in humility and personality. The world would be a better place if there were more people like Bob Murray in it! I am truly blessed that he was my teacher in KHS!

As I have had much personal experience with this man he has been a wonderful teacher and friend. I am awaiting his book as I type this, But I am sure it will be one great read. This man has had an incredible impact on quite a few people. I am one of those people. Mr. Murray had taken the time to teach me things I was not very good at and he never gave up on me or anyone else I knew he pushed you until you had whatever it is you were having trouble with and for that I will be forever grateful.

Best story of determination ever. , 11/10/2008

After I recieved my signed copy from Mr. Murray I just could not bring myself to read that book I had it framed for personal reference and ordered 2 copies from this site, 1 for me and 1 for my neighbor who is Mr. Murrays age. I will tell you that after knowing the author and reading this book I found myself thinking back to my first time I had him as a teacher. Now knowing what this man has achieved and gone through in his entire life. I have more respect for him than ever. I had respect for him always but this book has enhanced a hundred times. Not once did Mr. Murray ever show to his students by way of attitude that he was having such difficult times in his personal life. He really seperated his life from his job & that is something that I have always done. I give him alot of credit for doing that cause had he not Mr. Murray would have been one miserable teacher instead of the CLASS ACT he truly is. Mr. Murray, I also want you to know that Mr. Currie is definately looking down on you and keeping you and your family safe This is for payback to your total dedication to him and others. My neighbor also loved the book and told me I must have been one lucky kid to have a teacher like you. Thanks for everything.

  A Life Well Lived , 11/15/2008

It was my privilege to do the first editing of the manuscript for Blind Man's Bluff. I couldn't wait each day for Bob to fax me the pages so I could read what happened next! This wonderful man has led an incredible life. I read with tears in my eyes for the little guy who couldn't see the colors on the chart in school to laughing out loud - especially the incident about the hair cut and the exprience with the goats! No matter what obstacle was put in his way, Bob managed to sideswipe it and get on with his life. His story is a must read for everyone who is facing some tough times and anyone who enjoys a good read. A great Christmas gift.

Reviewer: PATRICK REILLY
HAVING KNOWN THE AUTHOR, AS I HAVE, IT IS NO SUPRISE TO HEAR OF THE STRUGGLES AND DETERMINATION THAT MOLDED HIS CHARACTER AND VALUES INTO A SUCCESSFUL OUTLOOK ON LIFE THAT WAS ADMIRED BY MANY. THIS WAS A REAL MAN, A MAN THAT TOOK LIFE BY THE HORNS AND SAID LETS HAVE AT IT. HE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED IN OUR HEARTS.
