Abstract:
This eco-erotic thriller enfolds as a travelogue across Costa Rica’s volcanoes, rainforests and vice-filled capital. On a birding trip to find rare species a small band of ex-pats rediscovers their eco-consciousness. Raids to free poached scarlet macaws lead to bloodshed and acrid plumes on the capital city’s skyline. Narrated by a burnt out journalist who grudgingly forsakes the pen for the sword, he teams with a debauched Midwestern hotelier, a Cuban sustainable farmer and a straight-shooting W.W. II vet to fight the corrupt elite. Paved with sex, violence and gratuitous environmentalism the journey leads the green gringos to unexpected rewards.
