This book is a must read for anyone going to China as a teacher, community development worker, missionary, businessman, traveller, etc. It gives great current descriptions of how the people live and explains background information about their culture. Very interesting read from cover to cover.

"Under the Mosquito Net" is a captivating account of the author's exploits in Asia. The style is so beautifully descriptive that I was compelled to "feel" like I was there with the author - walking, diving, playing, site-searching, and visiting. What a small price to pay for a trip to China!

If you have ever wanted to know what it is like living in China or Southeast Asia and to understand the culture of its people, "Under the Mosquito Net" is the book for you. Jennifer Smith has lived and worked among the people and become personally acquainted with many. As you read, you will feel that you are right there with her as she pedals through their streets or listens to her students share their stories.

This book is so good, can't wait to read more from this author! I was captivated by the word pictures this author used to describe the variety of culture she lived with over the period of a few years. I felt like I was with her during her journey!
